Want to learn some Tudor\/Jacobean round and catches? This playlist<\/a> contains informal videos of me and some singers trying out some catches. Listen and sing along! (You’ll find the lyrics in the description under each video).<\/p>

Look out for the Tudor version of ‘London’s Burning’ (Scotland it burneth), drinking songs, Tudor street cries and bells,\u00a0 tongue-twisters,\u00a0<\/span>love songs, and\u00a0<\/span>a compilation of Tudor dance tunes. Some are very simple – others offer a little more challenge!<\/span><\/p>

‘Class X Class Club’<\/a> is a 6-week series of 45-minute lessons to get your key stage 1 class (age 5-7) singing in simple harmony and creating their own class catches.<\/p>

‘Singing the Tudors’<\/a> is a 6-week series of 60-minutes for those teaching the Tudors to key stage 2 (age 7-11). Use rounds and catches capture to explore Tudor life! Each week has a theme which is explored through a combination of looking at primary sources (text, images, maps), listening to and singing Tudor music, and responding creatively or reflectively.\u00a0Topics include: Recreation, Warfare, the Countryside, City Life, the Catholic Church, and the Reformation.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Catch-singing workshops can be tailored to various ages from 7 upwards. They can be accessible to those with no singing experience and there’s no need to read music!<\/p>

This summer we’ll be leading some singing in Kiplin Hall<\/a>‘s lovely Jacobean long gallery – the perfect setting! Stop by to learn a simple catch or two, with short 15-minute drop-in sessions starting every half hour. Family friendly. No experience necessary and all ages welcome!<\/p>\n
